What you get
What our cyber security services include
Many of these are one-off jobs. Monitoring and the under 1 hour response come with managed IT support.
Managed firewalls
A business firewall with intrusion prevention and content filtering, written to a policy and kept on current firmware. See what a managed firewall includes.
Vulnerability scans and penetration tests
Scans and tests that look for weaknesses in your network and systems, with a written list of what to fix.
Cyber insurance readiness
Help getting the security controls insurers commonly ask about in place and documented.
Password managers and 2FA
A password manager and two-factor authentication set up for your accounts, so one stolen password does not open everything.
Email security: SPF, DKIM and DMARC
Email authentication on your domain, which makes it harder for someone to send email pretending to be you.
Virus and malware removal
Something wrong with a computer? We clean it up, remotely or on site.
24/7 monitoring for managed IT clients
Round-the-clock monitoring, centrally managed anti-malware and scheduled patching, with a response in under 1 hour during business hours for anything stopping work. See managed IT support.
Home cyber security
Securing home networks, devices and accounts for individuals and families.
How it runs
How we improve your small business cyber security
Four steps, and you know the price before work starts.
Look at what you have
What is reachable from outside, what is unpatched, and how your logins and email are set up.
Write down what to fix
A plain list of what is fine and what is not, with a clear quote for the work.
Close the gaps
We put the fixes in place, out of hours where a daytime change would interrupt your work.
Keep it that way
Managed IT clients get 24/7 monitoring and scheduled patching. Everyone else has one number to call.
Signs
Signs your business has a cyber security gap
Almost none of these are unusual. They are the ordinary gaps that automated attacks look for.
- Remote desktop open directly to the internet
- The internet provider’s router is your only firewall
- Accounts with no 2FA, or the same password used everywhere
- One person holding every password
- Antivirus licences that expired without anyone noticing
- No SPF, DKIM or DMARC on your email domain
- Backups nobody has tried to restore
- A cyber insurance form you are not sure how to answer
The difference
Hoping for the best versus a plan
Good security is mostly ordinary work done properly, and someone being responsible for it.

Questions
Cyber security questions we get asked
Do small businesses in Surrey really get attacked?
Yes. Most attacks are not aimed at you by name. Automated scanners work through every address on the internet looking for an open port or an unpatched service, so being small does not make you invisible.
What do your cyber security services include?
Managed firewalls, vulnerability scans and penetration tests, cyber insurance readiness, password managers and 2FA, SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your email, virus and malware removal, and home cyber security. Managed IT clients also get 24/7 monitoring.
How much does cyber security cost for a small business?
It depends on what you run and what needs doing, so we do not post set prices. We look at your setup first and give you a clear quote before work starts.
Can you help with cyber insurance requirements?
Yes. We help you get the security controls insurers commonly ask about in place and documented. The insurer makes the final decision on your coverage, so we cannot promise an outcome. Our guide to cyber insurance requirements in BC explains what they ask for.
What is the difference between a vulnerability scan and a penetration test?
A vulnerability scan checks your network and systems for known weaknesses. A penetration test goes further and tries to use those weaknesses the way an attacker would. Either way, you get a written list of what to fix.
I think I have a virus or I have been hacked. What should I do?
Call us on 604-375-2629. Our phone is answered 24/7 and emergency support is available any time. We do virus and malware removal remotely or on site.
How quickly do you respond?
Managed IT clients get a response in under 1 hour during business hours for anything stopping work, and their systems are monitored 24/7. Anyone can call us 24/7, and emergency support is available any time.
Do you help with home cyber security?
Yes. We secure home networks, devices and accounts for individuals and families, and we can set up a password manager and 2FA for you.
