Outlook Meeting Shows a Different Time When Opened? Why

Your Outlook calendar shows a meeting at 10:00, but when you open it, it says 9:00. In BC, Alberta and Manitoba this usually is not a glitch. The meeting is stored in the old time zone, and parts of Outlook handle that differently.

In the calendar grid the meeting shows 10:00. Opened, the same meeting shows 9:00 to 10:00, stored in Pacific Time (US & Canada).
Reported for new Outlook for Mac in this Microsoft Q&A thread. Your apps may differ.

First 10 fixes free, then a one-time $5.99 CAD for every event in your account. Undo any time for 30 days.

The fix: correct the stored time zone

Before: a meeting booked for 10:00 shows 11:00 because it is stored in Pacific Time (US & Canada). After the fix it shows 10:00, stored in Pacific Time (British Columbia).
The meeting keeps the time you booked. Only the stored time zone changes.

Restarting Outlook will not help, because the zone is saved on the meeting itself.

One fix shows everywhere

One calendar event fixed once in your mailbox, with check marks next to Outlook on Windows, Teams, Outlook on the web, Outlook for Mac, and Outlook on iPhone and Android.

Done in four steps

Four steps: sign in with Microsoft, scan (read-only), review before and after times, fix with undo for 30 days.
Usually under two minutes. A very busy calendar can take a little longer to scan.

Who can fix it?

  • You organized it: change its time zone, or use the app. See the full guide.
  • Someone else did: only they can fix it. The app prepares an email to each organizer.
  • It repeats: see recurring meetings.

Questions

Why is my Outlook meeting one hour behind?

Meetings stored in the old US zones are an hour behind BC, Alberta and Manitoba from Nov 1, 2026 to March 14, 2027. Changing the stored zone fixes it.
